Yacht Club

It is certainly difficult to separate Como from its lake: water sports have always been encouraged and financed. The Circolo della Vela Como (Yacht Club Como), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest sailing companies in Italy and, after World War II, it became one of the most active sailing clubs. Since 1950 it has also been the headquarters of Circolo della Vela Como (Yacht Club Como). The headquarters of Circolo della Vela di Como (now Yacht Club) represents an important place in the career of the artist from Como Carla Badiali. One of the first works commissioned to the artist from Como was, in fact, a decorative panel, of which no trace remains (nor does any evidence of its actual realisation) in the building designed by the engineer Balsamo, of whom there is little further information.
