The Serre Ratti Centre represents a wonderful example of the union of the study of art and contemporary culture in the Como area. In Como, inside the greenhouses owned by the Ratti family, the cultural centre is born between the mid ‘70s and the end of the ‘80s and immediately represented a catalyst pole for new optical-visual research, analytical painting and, particularly, abstract art. Artists of the caliber of Dadamaino and Grazia Varisco exhibited in the spaces of Serre Ratti centre, creating this interesting blend between contemporary art and the space dedicated to the floral greenhouses. There were multiple prestigious exhibits organised by the Cultural Centre, for example, the exhibition organised by Luciano Caramel, of the GRAV Group (Research Group for Visual Art), in 1978
