The creation of the Entrance Doors of the Luogo di Silenzio (Place of Silence), at the Sant'Anna Hospital in Como, is the work of the artist Franca Ghitti. The hospital, designed in 2009 by the architect Ercole Ceriani, offers both a chapel and a "Place of Silence", adjacent to the place of worship, devoid of religious connotations. The doors, placed at the entrance of the place, are characterised by a supporting structure and an embossed decoration in steel. The shapes recall a manual skill typical of the past and the materials used in the creation of agricultural tools recall the origins of the Camunian artist. The handmade creations are placed vertically on the door, typical of Franca Ghitti's work: through the vertical position, the artist stops the decoration in time, and invites reflection
